The Chilean

has shortened the length of the day by making the Earth rotate faster, according to Nasa scientists.
But you might not have noticed, as it was only by about one-millionth of a second.
Richard Gross has revealed the disaster, which has killed at least 795 people, shortened the length of a day by about 1.26 microseconds. A microsecond is one millionth of a second.

A 7.0 magnitude earthquake strikes southern Haiti on Tuesday January 12, 2010. The earthquake is about 10 miles southwest of Port-au-Prince. The massive earthquake killed many people and there was no estimated dead on Tuesday night. The quake knocks down the buildings, electricity,phone service and more. A quake could be felt across Dominican Republic, on the eastern part of the island of Hispaniola.
Numerous of relief organization are working to deliver immediate help for the million people affected by the earthquake.
